Diamonds are a Pet’s Best Friend
Diamonds-In-The-Ruff Pound Pups Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization that began in October 2012. The Diamonds in the Ruff mission is:
To rescue and help stray, abandoned, injured and neglected dogs throughout Obion County in NW TN.
To provide the care needed to bring any sick or injured dogs back to their best health possible.
To provide as many adoption options as possible for the homeless dogs of Obion County through use of nationwide adoption sites and networking with rescues and transports in other areas and states.
To work with the community to recruit committed volunteers and fosters for the animals.
To provide safe comfortable housing and good care for the county's homeless animals after their rescue and before going to a new home.
To publicize lost and found dogs in an attempt to reunite lost dogs with their owners.
Without a physical shelter facility, we must rely on foster homes to house the animals we rescue until we are able to find them good homes. When there aren't enough fosters, we must pay to board the rescued animals. Funds for housing, feeding and vetting the rescued animals come from reasonable adoption fees and donations, but the need is constant and difficult to meet. We currently have over 30 dogs in our care.
Diamonds really shines with a small group of volunteers that works hard to provide vetting, care and love until they are able to place pets in good homes across the county and across the country!! By promoting our adoptable dogs on various social media and adoption sites, Obion County’s homeless dogs have found homes in many states including TN, KY, OH, IN, IL, MI, MN, SD, WY, KS, MO, WA, CA, AZ, AK, LA, AL, MS, FL, PA, NJ, NY, VA, NH, VT, MA, ME, and RI. One of our adopted dogs now lives with his forever family in the German Alps!
Pet owners, please help us by taking more responsibility. Obey the Leash Law and have your pets spayed or neutered to avoid unwanted animals. Join Diamonds and become part of the team of volunteers, fosters and adopters helping these community animals.
